Description
The Cincinnati Council of the Navy League supports this Coast Guard unit by providing a Sailor of the Quarter and Sailor of the Year awards.
Cincinnati can boast of having a form of Naval Reserve support for over 100 years, beginning in 1890. The current facility was commissioned on April 23, 1983 with a million dollar addition built in 1994.
Navy Operations Support Center (NOSC), Cincinnati provides training and administrative support to some 360 Naval Reservists in nine reserve units and some 200 Marine Corps Reserves attached to the Headquarters Battalion, Comm Co (-), 4th Marine Division. Offices for Navy and Marine Reserve Recruiting are also located on the base. Navy Operations Support Center (NOSC), Cincinnati is one of six Navy Operations Support centers in Ohio and one of 26 Navy Operations Support centers in Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Indiana and Ohio that reports to Commander, Naval Reserve Readiness Command Region Midwest.
